Euro-spiration Part 2: Edinburgh

Continuing on from my London post last week, I have compiled a few pictures of our next Europe destination we will be visiting in June; Edinburgh.

While we will only have three short days in this medieval city, it is one of the places I am most excited just to wander and get lost in. We don't have much planned for these three days, so it looks like that will probably be the plan.

Ideally, Scotland is somewhere I would like to go and travel all over the place, but time constraints make this impossible.

We will of course, be visiting the famous Edinburgh Castle, wandering through the Old Town, climbing up the hill to Arthur's Seat, walking along the Royal Mile, hopping on over to Linlithgow Palace nearby (one of the main residences of the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries) and just generally pretending that we live in this picturesque city. If anyone has any recommendations for things to do/see/places to eat or any nice little daytrips from Edinburgh, please leave a comment in the comments section below!

Howdy Partner

Right now, there is one trend I am obsessing over. Well, there's a few, but for the sake of the argument lets just say there's only one.

The Western shirt. And by that, I don't mean your typical flannelette shirt that doubles as pyjamas.
I'm talking about perfect tailored shirts with floral embroidery and detailing. Kind of like a cowboy at a special event. The kind that he might actually shave and polish his boots for.

It's one of those weird trends where you know it's a trend because you see them everywhere, but you never seem to see people actually wearing them on the street. This actually makes me more excited because no one seems to have picked up on it yet, so there's still that feeling of being a 'trend-setter'.

I think we can safely say that the Western shirt trend was firmly started (this time around. Let us not forget the 70s) by Isabel Marant in her last couple of collections. While these shirts are absolutely superb, it saddens me to say that my budget does not allow for such purchases. Me along with millions of other ordinary fashion lovers.

Look no further, fellow boot-scooters! I have lassoed up my favourite Western shirts from Ye Olde Faithful website ASOS.

I personally have had the first one on the list in my saved items for months waiting for it to go on sale (I'm in Europe-saving mode). Think this post may have inspired me to just follow my achy breaky heart right on down to the checkout...

Euro-spiration Part 1: London

Part of my plan with this blog was to always include some travel as well as fashion/style and it is now that this part is finally coming into play. As my impending eight week Europe trip approaches (73 days, but who's counting?), I thought it might be a nice little idea to share some Euro-spiration with you all of places that my bestest buddy and I will be/hope to be visiting.

During our travels we will be staying in London, Edinburgh, Cork, Dublin, Paris, Nice, Amsterdam, Berlin, Venice, Florence and Rome. In that order.

It just so happens that we have nearly exactly 10 weeks til we jet off. It also happens that if we lump Cork and Dublin together (for the sake of the following paragraph), there are exactly 10 places. Fancy that! What a coinkidink! (aka Coincidence, for those not familiar with the aforementioned word)

With that in mind, I will be posting a Euro-spiration post on each place every week until we go, starting with London this week. We have a whole 10 days in London, which I am absolutely over the moon about due to my everlasting love affair with this crazy place.
I've been there before years ago and already have an extensive list of things to see/places to go, but if anyone knows of any interesting, little-known places then please leave a comment in the comments section and let me know!

Without further ado, here is a whole bunch of London-spiration and places we will be visiting. Some are actually of Liverpool and Bath as we will be day-tripping there. Enjoy!

Get Your Knit On

As the weather gets cooler (finally) in Australia, we all set about bringing all our winter wear out of mothballs and cozying up with a hot beverage before bed.

It's also about this time that one may stare into their (already overflowing) wardrobe and cry out in dismay: "I have nooooo warm clothes!"

If this sounds familiar, do not despair. I've done a bit of legwork for you and summarised my knitwear picks for staying cozy while looking like a babe in the process. I've also taken the extra step and categorised them into trends for you. You're welcome.
